Objetive: design an AI recommender system for a movie platform by developing and user stories.

User stories and prioritization

  • User Stories: developed 28 user stories inspired by the use of www.movielens.org that followed the template: As a [user], I want [goal or action] so that [outcome or reason].

  • Applied decision matrix method to rank individual user stories based on importance, volatility, feasibility, time, and cost. Each user story received points within these parameters.

  • Prioritized features within a budget of 35 points. The process led to a design approach emphasizing user control and governance of recommendations. Interactive features, such as the quiz and onboarding process, were introduced to enhance user engagement and customization.

Wireframing

  • Implemented design changes based on prioritization results to enhance user control, customizing the front page and community feed.

  • Introduced features like a quiz and an onboarding process to engage users directly in the recommendation process and provide more control over content customization.

  • Annotated wireframes illustrate the proposed changes to the front page and community feed, reflecting the prioritized user stories.
